Ross Wylie Biography

Every few years Scotland produces a star capable of taking the motor racing world by storm. Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, David Coulthard, Allan McNish and Paul Di Resta are household names that all scaled the heights. Now, Ross intends to join them since competing in his debut car racing season.

In the eight seasons he raced karts, Ross was a frequent race and trophy winner and demonstrated great pace, mental resilience and an unshakeable desire to compete. In 2010 he won the coveted British Open Rotax Championship and the pre-final in the prestigious Rotax Winter Cup.

2011 saw him build on these successes and he concluded his karting career as one of the top ten Rotax drivers in the UK and Europe. Ross also won the annual Gold Cup, sealing his reputation as one of Scotland’s most exciting new talents.

2012 marked Ross’ debut year in the exciting world of ‘tin-top’ racing when he signed for one of the best teams in the Celtic Speed Mini Cooper Cup – Mini Max Racing. He surpassed all expectations and went on to finish 5th overall with 6 podiums including 2 wins, 2 poles and 4 fastest laps. He also achieved the Knockhill Young Saloon Car Driver of the Year Award and the Ecurie Ecosse Hub Cap Trophy.

2013 was a busy one for Ross who was selected by VolksWagen to compete in the VW Scirocco R-Cup.
